1. About us

Instant Passport Photo ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at instantpassportphoto.co.uk and provides an online service that produces government-compliant passport photos from user-submitted selfies. By using our service you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. The service

We accept a selfie photograph uploaded by you, process it using automated image-processing and AI tools to produce a biometric passport photo, validate it against applicable ICAO 9303 standards, and deliver the result to your email address as a digital download.

The service is provided on a best-efforts basis. While every photo is validated against international biometric standards, acceptance by a specific passport authority or government body ultimately rests with that authority. If your photo is rejected despite meeting all technical requirements, please contact us at support@instantpassportphoto.co.uk.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use this service. By placing an order you confirm that you are 18 or over, or that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

4. Payment

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Prices are displayed in GBP and include any applicable taxes.

Payment is taken at the time of order. Your order is confirmed once payment has been successfully processed.

5. Refunds and free retries

• Compliance failure: If your photo fails automated compliance checks after payment, you will receive a free retry link at no extra charge. You may retake your photo and resubmit it.
• Unable to produce a compliant photo: If after one retry we are still unable to produce a compliant photo, you are entitled to a full refund. Please contact us at support@instantpassportphoto.co.uk.
• Change of mind: Because the service is digital and delivered immediately, we cannot offer refunds once a compliant photo has been successfully delivered.

Your statutory rights as a consumer under UK consumer law are not affected by these terms.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of any photos you upload. By uploading a photo you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process and store it solely for the purpose of providing the service. We will not use your photo for any other purpose, and we will delete it within 30 days of your order.

You must not upload photos of third parties without their consent. You are responsible for ensuring any photo you submit complies with applicable laws.

7. Download links

Your download link is valid for 7 days from the date of purchase. We strongly recommend downloading and saving your photo immediately. We are not responsible for loss of access after the link has expired.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising from or in connection with your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for your order. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential losses.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will indicate the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
